Presentation

One of the core skills GBCS provides for our students is experience with presenting learned knowledge and abilities. Presentations occur in the form of class projects, Advisory-based Quickfire Projects, and bi-annual whole school exhibitions.

Quickfire presentation

Quickfire Projects

Around 4-6 times a year, students engage in “Quickfire” Projects. These half, to one day projects are opportunities for the school to learn together. Projects are conducted in Advisory groups and then constructed artifacts are presented at the end of the day to the entire student community. Recent projects include: Breast Cancer Awareness Day, How Animals Help Us Learn,

Exhibition

Typically done twice during the school year, exhibition projects are whole-school individual or group projects tied to a theme or scenario.  Students demonstrate their learning publicly by displaying their project “artifacts” (required or choice components) and presenting their knowledge through interaction with public guests.

Exhibition builds confidence in project management, teamwork, and individual presentation skills and is a great opportunity to challenge areas of weakness and enrich areas of strength.
